The Artist

Meet Jesse Mast

Portrait of photographer Jesse Mast

From an early age, whenever I could get a hold of a camera, I was making pictures. Whether it was sewing costumes, building props, and gathering neighborhood friends as actors, I was always creating something. The more I made, the more I wanted the work to last. Though I enjoy our modern world, I prefer classic to contemporary, guitars over synthesizers, cooking fresh ingredients, and conversations face-to-face. I'm passionate about ageless things, and I want the art I create to reflect that.

Since 2012, I've done professional photography and independent filmmaking in Minneapolis, MN. In recent years my passion shifted toward homes — not just photographing them, but turning those photographs into paintings. I start with a photo of your home and paint over it by hand, adding brushwork, texture, and atmosphere until the image feels like a memory rather than a snapshot. The finished piece is something made for you, the homeowner, not for a listing or a portfolio.

If you're arriving here from a search, you may also know my work as Mast Wedding Films, where I've spent more than a decade filming weddings across the world, with a specialty in Europe. The same eye for light, story, and timeless moments runs through both bodies of work.

Enough about me, though. Tell me about your home — and the wall it belongs on.

How a painting is made

Start with Jesse's photograph

Jesse photographs your home on location, working with the natural light and landscape that make the place feel like yours. The painting begins with that image.

Painted by hand

I work over the photograph with digital brushwork, adding texture, light, and atmosphere until it reads as a finished painting.

Made to keep

Every piece is printed on archival paper or canvas, signed, and shipped ready to frame — a keepsake of the place you love.
